Young men certainly have faced a difficult time, but it’s no excuse to turn into a victim culture that I have witnessed many of my peers fall into. Fidelity, courage, duty, integrity, grit are all personal choices we must make, and there are certainly many young men that would rather take the lazy route. The individual needs to make that choice. As a young man with a bit of trouble and (as much as I hate the word) trauma in my past, I’ve had to make the decision to not give up. I was just talking with my parents how I am a bit of an anachronism in this day and age, but it’s who I am. Society takes time to change, and it’s difficult to do. But we as individuals, we can make that decision today. If enough of us do, then we can start to see a bit of progress.
