Friday night's geomagnetic storm produced four different features, all at once: aurora, proton arc, SAR arc and a STEVE.
I don't think I've ever captured them all before, so I thought I'd do an explainer graphic.

🌟 That’s a wrap on Day 3 at #AGU24! 🌍✨
From inspiring panels on open science and global scientific innovation to Admiral Rachel L. Levine’s empowering Agency Lecture, today was packed with knowledge and connection. 🙌
Join us for an online Aurorasaurus Report-A-Thon Sat, Sept. 21, 1-4 pm ET (17:00 UTC). Help gather data to advance aurora science, ask your questions to experts, and hang out with a community of aurora lovers. There will be prizes! Register: https://t.co/uzVErXrKl7

A reconstruction of the inner heliosphere for the last 18 months and 926 coronal mass ejections.
This is a new method: The ambient solar wind at the inner boundary is produced from the near-Earth observations. The CMEs are still determined by coronagraph observations.
Quake it off! Seismometers around Edinburgh were triggered by the rapturous Taylor Swift crowds at Murrayfield Stadium over the weekend.

😱 It's official! 🤩 🥳 The current storm reached G5 (extreme) level. Kp reached 9 and Dst has surpassed the superstorm level (-250 nT). We are at Dst -348 nT. This is one for the record books and it is not over yet. What is coming next? 🫣 😮

A SOLAR TSUNAMI: We are expecting wave after wave of coronal mass ejections to striking the Earth on 11th and 12th May. Solar wind speeds of about 800 km/s are possible. Strong and extended geomagnetic storms likely with aurora visible at lower-than-normal latitudes. Stay tuned.
This likely is the biggest storm Aurorasaurus has ever seen in more than a decade of existence: it's even off our chart! With so much to learn, please help spread the word and make a report on https://t.co/iS0bXkmZsa! 3/3
