Court restrains resident doctors from planned nationwide strike

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) has issued an interim order restraining the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) from proceeding with its planned indefinite nationwide strike scheduled to begin on January 12, 2026.

The ruling, delivered on Thursday in Abuja, followed an ex parte application filed by the Federal Government, seeking to halt the industrial action pending the determination of a substantive suit.
