The Regional Film Competitions (RFC) kicks off today!
Organized by @UCC_Official, RFC (launched in 2022) spotlights Ugandan audiovisual talent beyond Kampala by celebrating regional filmmakers across Northern, Eastern, Western, & Central regions.
Under the theme “Transformation: The Power of Local Stories”, it enhances content diversity, builds skills & capacities for upcountry creators, expands audiences for local productions, fosters industry collaborations & business linkages, and empowers the creative sector through recognition, training, & funding opportunities (e.g., cash prizes and production support for winners).
This week-long regional rollout features film public screenings, hands-on workshops & trainings, networking sessions, and culminates in exciting award galas to honor top talents in:
• Eastern Region (📍Soroti City)
• Northern Region (📍Arua City)
• Central Region (📍Luwero District)
• Western Region (📍Hoima City)
Winners advance to shine in the dedicated Regional Film Category at the main #UgandaFilmFestival!
