Best of luck! We wish you a safe and successful harvest season.
Soil variability and more specifically drainage variability causing large differences in late season plant health and also ear size.
Poorly drained/compacted soils showed significantly more nitrogen deficiency/crown rot than where drainage was adequate and the same nitrogen rate applied.
Pictures show the green corn/brown husk in well drained area produced the larger kernel depth ear and about 40 yards over is poorly drained and poor kernel depth and much less plant health..
Lots of variability out there!
