Appreciation post for President Jimmy Carter who, after entering hospice care 7 months ago, is still with us and even made a public appearance today at the Plains Peanut Festival in his hometown, where he is cherished.
President Carter has lived an exemplary life most people could only dream of. He served America in the Navy, where he helped avert nuclear meltdown disaster.
He was a state Senator, then Georgia Governor, and 39th President of the United States of America.
After his presidency, he dedicated the rest of his life to serving humanity by building houses in Habitat for Humanity, and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
God willing, he will celebrate his 99th birthday in a week. I consider myself lucky to have lived to witness such a good, kind man help so many people.
"Oil companies are oil companies. People shouldn’t hope they’ll become renewable energy companies."
The @globeandmail get's it right: oil and gas companies will no voluntarily stop producing fossil fuels. Enough wishful thinking.

@TimHoustonNS You and your government had lots of time to better deal with this and even now you are playing politics. We are living in a climate emergency and more needs to be done now. Raise minimum wages now to help the people who are hurting the most.
@ChenderClaudia We need to do more to reduce pollution that is harming everyone. The conservative plan doesn't go far enough and they are playing politics in the middle of our climate emergency. We are already suffering but our children will pay a much higher price if we don't do more now!
@imashleymi Kids will have their own place eventually, market will correct or there will be another revolution. My daughter might be moving back in for a while after finishing university. I am really looking forward to it even if she does leave her empty yogurt containers out lol
