BREAKING: @DavidCrisafulli has just passed a motion banning any bill on abortion over the next 4 years. Not only is this fundamentally anti-democratic, it is also potentially unconstitutional. And most importantly it completely abandons QLD newborns who are left to die if they survive their abortion and QLD babies who can be killed right up until birth under current law.

Last night I voted against Labor’s Under 16 Social Media Ban Bill in the Senate.

While I understand the concerns that many have about children and social media, Labor's Bill was rushed through the parliament.

This Bill warranted far greater scrutiny and debate. It affects all Australians, yet only 24 hours were afforded for public submissions (which were overwhelmingly negative).

I had more to say but, like other members, had little time. Watch as I speak to this Bill in the Senate.

As I know firsthand, social media giants already do a significant amount of censorship but @AlboMP will turbo charge the appalling censorship that already exists on most social media platforms through his Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation bill. This will further weaponise the labels of misinformation and disinformation against people like me who dare challenge the ideological agenda of the establishment. A healthy, functioning democracy requires freedom of speech, which means that ideas from across the ideological and political spectrum are discussed and debated with the hope that good arguments, guided by the light of truth, will win the day.
