Dear @espn,
I noticed, after scrolling through a whole bunch of your tweets, that you managed to retweet just one routine from NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships. I noticed it’s the same routine we’ve been watching all year. You’ve shown no love to any other amazing gymnasts.
@kwistent In could have been great, but the books I was secretly reading under the table weren’t my level, and the library had like 12 books I was allowed to choose from. In 5th grade I wanted to read Harry Potter instead of Frankenstein or that terrible Hans Brinker & his stupid skates.
Tonight I defined portmanteau for my children with the sentence "I sharted in my jorts" in case anyone ever tries to tell you being an English major doesn't pay off
You've probably heard about how Opportunity's last words to NASA were “my battery is low and it's getting dark.”
What you may not have heard is NASA's last words TO Opportunity: as a final transmission to the rover, they played Billie Holiday's "I'll Be Seeing You."
@jcourtsull Definitely start with In the Woods and read them in order. (People will say you don’t have to, but I cannot imagine an alternative.) I’ve spent years of my life waiting for each of these books to be released. Years.
@pengshepherd (I’m a Mississippian who’s lived in New England, NYC, DC, TN, and now New Orleans, and you mapped my life in the most magical way possible.)
@pengshepherd This is wonderful news because It means that A) more people will be able to read this phenomenal story and B) people around the world will learn for the first time that Bogalusa, Covington, and Pearl River exist.
