Two winter annual weeds we find in no-till corn/soy fields and pastures in the eastern cornbelt. Easy to control with fall herbicide treatments. Two of the six alternative hosts for SCN we have documented in our research. See this EXT pub for more info. https://t.co/Dm9G8pD09z

@gloriawalch4@luke_hannam@ElshofJordan @UofGFoodProf Taste was a critical evolution among omnivores who consume a wide variety of foods and therefore have a higher risk of encountering toxins. Among humans today, our keen sense of taste may be leading us to overconsume fatty and caloric foods #Food2150#Breslin

@luke_hannam@ElshofJordan @UofGFoodProf @UofGFoodProf carbs = sweet, acids = sour, toxins = bitter! This acts as a safety feature while tasting foods since we automatically identify bitter tastes with unsafe foods. Mothers during gestation are especially sensitive, to protect the baby.👶🏼🍼#assignment#Food2150#Breslin
@ElshofJordan @UofGFoodProf Aside from acting as a measure of quality for a foods flavour, taste is an evolutionary adaptation that is used to identify nutritious foods! Early hominids developed taste to prevent consuming poor quality food and lethal toxins! #Breslin#assignment#FOOD2150 @UofGFoodProf
