The GOP legislature is planning to choke the life out of public education, and you need to know what’s happening. Watch Gov. Cooper's special address on public education.
Please, please, please put country over job @SpeakerMcCarthy. People on both sides will respect you more for helping more our country forward than for keeping your job title!
We’re about six weeks from default.
One big question:
Is there any bipartisan deal that Speaker McCarthy can bring to a vote that won’t cost him his job as Speaker?
If not, we’ve got a major problem.
@jeremyfaust Thank you! Pregnancy and infants are often overlooked w regard to COVID. Being 35 weeks pregnant, I have been trying to figure out how to get my (2nd) bivalent booster so my future girl can be protected in the first 6 months of her life…🤞I can get the shot before she is born!

Desantis outlines the framework for his budget today, including permanent ban on sales tax for gas stoves. Only people who buy electric stoves will pay tax: “They want your gas stove, and we’re not gonna let that happen.”
“If we looked at all those other leading causes of death – whether you’re talking about motor vehicle accidents or childhood cancer – & we said, ‘Gosh, if we had some simple, safe thing we could do to get rid of one of those, wouldn’t we just jump at it?” https://t.co/bdWGj181IB

The best way to fight misinformation is with information. No need to hide scary information, no need to push it either. People will make better decisions when info is accessible.
Wouldn’t it be great for America if a block of Republicans and Democrats work together to pick a Speaker to run a coalition-style government? A coalition allows the House to create policy from the middle out rather than the extremes in.
I honestly have been trying to understand why this isn’t happening for weeks now. It just makes so much sense. Oh, I guess the “sense” part is why it isn’t happening…
A block of House Republicans should get together with Democrats to pick a speaker to run a coalition government, which will moderate the House and marginalize the extremists.
@oledanielson@EricTopol@CDCgov Yes! What makes this particularly difficult is that many institutions (schools, daycares, offices, etc) that want to implement safety measures feel they should reference @CDCgov when making guidelines due to internal pushback, but the #cdc isn’t really providing that information
Guns are now the No. 1 killer of children in the U.S., surpassing car crashes. Gun death rates for children have been rising for years, and in 2020 guns became the leading cause of death for those ages 1 to 18. https://t.co/qrco9L6vQv
The misinformation regarding pregnancy and COVID has been deplorable. It is so important (and easy) to get vaccinated when pregnant and breastfeeding - for you AND your baby. Please reach out to me directly with questions. via @NYTimes https://t.co/3ULUdPXZqY

Grateful to be able to give my son 1 more layer of protection from potential long term consequences of COVID!
(yes - the data keeps building a stronger story for protection against long COVID!)
More children now have the opportunity to update their protection with a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine, and we encourage parents & caregivers of those eligible to consider doing so – especially as we head into the holidays & winter months where more time will be spent indoors.
Today, we amended the emergency use authorizations (EUAs) of the updated (bivalent) Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines to include use in children down to 6 months of age. https://t.co/dHHwGFJ7fW
