The Moment…

The clock is ticking down. The ball is in our hands. One final dribble… and suddenly, every early morning, every late night, every drop of sweat, every tear, every sacrifice and every doubt led to this moment.

They said we weren’t good enough. Some thought they were too good to play with us. Others questioned the team, the coaches and the process.

But these girls stayed together.

They trusted the work. They trusted each other. They trusted the process.

And as the final seconds disappeared, Team Hickory 15U didn’t just win a game we completed the journey and became Run for Roses Platinum Division Champions.

Then the horn sounded… and the calm turned into pure joy.

This is what happens when you stay committed, block out the noise and refuse to stop believing.

Words cannot express how incredibly proud I am of these young ladies and our coaching staff.

To travel to Louisville, Kentucky, compete in The Run for the Roses—the largest basketball tournament in the world—and finish undefeated as the 2029 Emerald Platinum Division Champions is an unbelievable accomplishment, especially in our first year competing in this tournament.

This championship is a testament to the hard work, dedication, resilience, and heart these young ladies have shown all season. They represented Team Hickory with class, competed at the highest level, and proved what can happen when preparation meets opportunity.

To everyone who has supported our organization, encouraged our players, traveled with us, prayed for us, or cheered us on from afar—thank you. Your support means more than you know, and this championship belongs to all of us.

Congratulations to our players and coaching staff on an unforgettable weekend. The future is bright, and we’re just getting started.
