There has been a female Ooni of Ife before. There has also been a female Alaafin of Oyo. In parts of Okunland, women not only had the freedom to marry whom they wished, but could also marry other women and establish households and families of their own.

Again, when it comes to women's freedom and social authority, we are not mates. Yoruba society had progressive elements long before anyone coined modern labels for such ideas.

We had Female deities, cults, groups, leadership and anything. They could own and enjoy almost every and any available privilege and rights men.

Reconstruction and rehabilitation works begun fully today. The work will restore the Car Wash-- Moore Junction corridor to durable standards.
