Oshana police have confiscated various household goods and cash from the residence of a 66-year-old Angolan national at New Reception in Ongwediva, following suspicions of an unregistered pawn operation.
The seized items include laptops, televisions, gas cylinders, stoves, cigarettes and other goods allegedly exchanged for cash.
Police Commissioner Andreas Shilelo says the investigation followed a tip-off from residents concerned about the movement of goods into the house. Police are also investigating whether stolen property was involved.
Cash was additionally confiscated from a bar allegedly operating from the premises without a valid liquor licence.
Shilelo warned the public against unregistered pawn transactions, saying they could facilitate the trade of stolen goods.
