@cmn432student I think Netflix is especially guilty of white washing and stereotyping their characters, especially with Black characters. Even when we call them out, they just add another character that looks exactly like the first.

I find it interesting when a man impersonates a woman, they smile obnoxiously and use a high pitched voice while a woman will make a straight face and a low voice when impersonating a man. This is portrayed all the time on Tik Tok #CMN432

Has anyone ever seen Euphoria? I think analyzing Nate Jacobs' story and his struggle with sexuality would be a great way to help us understand what people go through when figuring out their own gender and sexuality in real life. #CMN432

1 current misunderstanding is that if a cis man paints his nails/wears makeup, it automatically solves toxic masculinity. These men are often still mentally/physically abusive, but its often overlooked bc they are seen as progressive for being comfortable with their sexuality

After Billy brought up how people ask if your dog is a boy or girl when meeting it, I realized that I do that as well. It made me acknowledge that while an animal is different than a human, that habit can be carried over to meeting people and could be harmful & offensive #CMN432
