No proof of ownership? No vote.

Since when is voting only for property owners?
Even EC rules say homeless citizens can register.

दिल्ली में एक बूथ पर 909 मतदाताओं में से 908 नाम काट दिया गया

चांदनी चौक विधानसभा क्षेत्र के एक पोलिंग बूथ की कहानी पढ़िये👇

• 1 जनवरी 2025 की वोटर लिस्ट में इस बूथ पर 909 मतदाता दर्ज थे

• SIR के दौरान 728 मतदाताओं के नाम हटाए गए, जबकि 180 नाम SIR से पहले की mapping exercise में ही हटा दिए गए

• यानी 909 में से 908 मतदाताओं के नाम अब सूची से बाहर हैं

• बूथ पर अब सिर्फ 1 मतदाता बचा है

• जबकि स्थानीय लोग आज भी वहां रह रहे हैं. उन्होंने SIR के दौरान Enumeration Forms जमा किए, कई लोगों के पास BLO द्वारा दिए गए acknowledgment भी हैं

• लेकिन BLO-BLA की बैठक के रिकॉर्ड में घर-घर जाकर सिर्फ 1 Enumeration Form मिलने की बात दर्ज है

• अब लोगों से कहा जा रहा है कि बिजली-पानी का बिल या ज़मीन के मालिकाना हक का प्रमाण नहीं दिया तो उनका नाम वोटर लिस्ट में नहीं रहेगा

• सवाल ये है कि क्या मतदाता बनने का अधिकार सिर्फ ज़मीन या मकान के मालिकों के लिए है?

• चुनाव आयोग के अपने नियमों के मुताबिक बेघर नागरिक भी मतदाता के रूप में रजिस्टर हो सकते हैं

909 मतदाताओं वाली एक बूथ की सूची में 908 नाम हट जाना सामान्य प्रक्रिया नहीं हो सकती

यह सिर्फ नामों की कटौती नहीं है - यह लोगों के वोट के अधिकार और लोकतंत्र में उनकी भागीदारी का सवाल है
