Visiting my daughter and her husband in Southern Utah this weekend.

Last night I stopped at a local grocery store for a couple of sodas for the drive home. The cashier asked if I had a phone number for their rewards program… I didn’t.

So I asked for the local area code (it’s 435) and tried:

435-867-5309

It worked! The young cashier looked pleasantly shocked. 😲

I explained it’s the famous number from the 80s Tommy Tutone song “867-5309/Jenny.” This little trick has only failed me once in all my travels.

Thanks, Tommy Tutone (and Jenny 😏) for helping travelers save a few bucks on groceries!
