Rest in peace, Patricia Routledge 🙏🏻
In memory of her, I encourage everyone to read these words of hers from February last year.
Whether young or old, you're bound to get something out of it.
*****
"I’ll be turning 95 this coming Monday. In my younger years, I was often filled with worry — worry that I wasn’t quite good enough, that no one would cast me again, that I wouldn’t live up to my mother’s hopes. But these days begin in peace, and end in gratitude.
My life didn’t quite take shape until my forties. I had worked steadily — on provincial stages, in radio plays, in West End productions — but I often felt adrift, as though I was searching for a home within myself that I hadn’t quite found.
At 50, I accepted a television role that many would later associate me with — Hyacinth Bucket, of Keeping Up Appearances. I thought it would be a small part in a little series. I never imagined that it would take me into people’s living rooms and hearts around the world. And truthfully, that role taught me to accept my own quirks. It healed something in me.
At 60, I began learning Italian — not for work, but so I could sing opera in its native language. I also learned how to live alone without feeling lonely. I read poetry aloud each evening, not to perfect my diction, but to quiet my soul.
At 70, I returned to the Shakespearean stage — something I once believed I had aged out of. But this time, I had nothing to prove. I stood on those boards with stillness, and audiences felt that. I was no longer performing. I was simply being.
At 80, I took up watercolour painting. I painted flowers from my garden, old hats from my youth, and faces I remembered from the London Underground. Each painting was a quiet memory made visible.
Now, at 95, I write letters by hand. I’m learning to bake rye bread. I still breathe deeply every morning. I still adore laughter — though I no longer try to make anyone laugh. I love the quiet more than ever.
I’m writing this to tell you something simple:
Growing older is not the closing act. It can be the most exquisite chapter — if you let yourself bloom again.
Let these years ahead be your TREASURE YEARS.
You don’t need to be famous. You don’t need to be flawless.
You only need to show up — fully — for the life that is still yours.
With love and gentleness,
Patricia Routledge

Once more, rest in peace. 🤍
#WASPI women will not forget and they are a generation who votes, as do their partners and their families. All politicians should note that saying one thing and doing another does not sit well with the voting public
The highest April temperature ever recorded in the UK was 29.4C, which was reached in London on 16 April 1949.
Thought I'd mention this before the Climate Change activists say this spell of sunny weather is climate change.
It's not. It's called 'weather.'
The Parliamentary Ombudsman ruled that national financial circumstances should not be a barrier to awarding compensation.
What sort of precedent does it set if the Govt. can ignore its own watchdog ? Our fight isn’t only for #WASPI women it seems, it’s for all women, and it’s for integrity, fairness and justice. Please donate to & share our fundraising appeal 👇

.@leicesterliz@EmmaforWycombe: "If ministers are now again ‘considering all views’ what is the point of an independent Ombudsman? The question of whether #WASPI women should be compensated can’t just be rehashed & reopened after a six-year inquiry."

One day they may release a drama that will shock you more than the Post Office scandal.
It will show millions of people queuing in the cold, willing to roll their sleeve up to take an unknown product into their bodies, not sufficiently tested to justify the outrageous claims of safe and effective. A product that was never tested to see if it stopped transmission, but was sold to you as though it would.
Dire adverse reactions were ignored by authorities and the media. Families losing loved ones prematurely to heart conditions and the elderly abandoned as calateral damage.
One day people may sit there shocked and horrified at the utter betrayal of Western government and profiteering corporations...
Sometimes one song is all it needs to trigger a revolution.

It’s Happening. We’ve had enough!!
7 years ago today 1000s of #WASPI women gathered in Parliament to protest to the Government about our issue. We're still here, fighting for justice. We've lost too many friends to stop now. We will keep the faith: this historic injustice will be compensated.
So news has “leaked “ that 95% of MPs haven’t been vaccinated! These people tried to force you into getting vaxxed to save Granny! Yet, they chose not to! Why is nobody questioning this or angry that it was one rule for you and one for them?
I urge everyone to watch this monologue from @thecoastguy. It is a brilliantly frank summary of what has happened over the past 2 years and why it is happening. Share it as widely as possible. We need more people to wake up before it is too late.
Three years ago you told us all there was an emergency and that we must stay home.
In the beginning I believed you. But within 6 weeks it became apparent it was a tissue of lies.
Despite the evidence from proper scientists, not the charlatans at Imperial College, that the virus was a minimal risk to the under 70s and even to healthy elderly people, you persisted with draconian lockdowns, masks which didn't and don't work, vaccines which are neither safe nor effective, and you banished effective cheap treatments to the margins, sentencing many people to an early and unnecessary death.
You made these unsafe vaccines mandatory for care workers, forcing 40,000 people out of the sector, and tried to do the same to NHS workers. Your public health experts manipulated statistics to justify further lockdowns. You nnow refuse to investigate the genuine epidemic of excess deaths and refuse to properly investigate vaccine adverse event reports.
You printed vast amounts of money to give away in furlough payments, causing the current inflation catastrophe.
If you ever shout "EMERGENCY" again, I won't believe a word of it. All your credibility and all of my trust has gone.
You can shove your emergency alert. I'll be out with my family and my phone will be switched off at home with the battery out. I'll use my 5 senses to decide if there's an emergency. And if there is one, it's most likely that government caused it anyway.
Yesterday I pointed out that there is no UK "Conspiracy Movement"; rather there are a lot of individuals seeking out alternative news sources because they have noticed that almost everything the mainstream media had told them about the pandemic for the last 3 years has turned out to be false. And I listed a few examples and promised to provide evidence to back them up.
So here is part 1 of the evidence.
"The virus wasn't a deadly threat to everyone, only to the elderly with comorbidities"
Attached are the results from a study by the most cited epidemiologist in the world, Professor John Ioannidis of Stanford University. In spring and summer 2020 he monitored studies of COVID mortality and seroprevalence (measurement of the extent of spread of antibodies against COVID19 which demonstrated exposure to the disease) to calculate an average Infection Fatality Rate for COVID-19. This is the number of people infected with a disease who go on to sadly die from it, expressed as a ratio. He calculated an overall figure for all age groups, and one for the under 70s. For the under 70s, the median IFR was 0.05%, or 1 in every 2000 people infected. For comparison, the IFR of seasonal influenza for all age groups is around 1 in every 1,000 people infected.

Then if we look at what actually happened in England and Wales in 2020, we see that according to the ONS, just under 81,000 people died with COVID-19 mentioned on their death certificate. However of those 81,000 people, 61% were over 80 years of age, and 84% were over 70 years of age. And the median age at death with COVID was 80.3 years of age.
Also from the ONS we find out that in 2020 the number of deaths that involved COVID-19 but were recorded without any pre-existing conditions in England and Wales was 9432.
So 88% of the 81,000 deaths recorded in England and Wales with COVID on the death certificate involved people with other pre-existing conditions.
I followed mainstream media very closely in 2020 and none of this important (and reassuring) context was shared with the public. Instead all that featured was the fear campaign and propaganda relentlessly pushed by the government and public health authorities. A fear campaign which the scientists on SPI-B who were responsible for it have since said they regret.

For anyone who complains that this information does not come from a credible source -it comes from the independent Office for National Statistics. If you have a more credible source of statistics please feel free to share it.
And for anyone tempted to post "but who are you Alan? What are your qualifications to say all of this?" I would answer "I'm a complete nobody. And that's exactly the point here. A complete nobody with nothing more than a suspicious mind and access to the internet spotted all of this - but highly paid journalists either did not, or kept quiet about it all.
Don't you think that's a disgrace? I do.

In my next post I'll cover masks. And I'm looking forward to that post because it contains a link to a source even the BBC couldn't fault. The BBC.
