A poetry submissions window will open on Sunday December 1st for two weeks (please do not send your work for consideration before this date). We'd like to see winter/festival themed poems but will also consider other topics. The window will close on Sunday December 15th.

Good Morning @PoetryDayUK
We have a children's poetry anthology coming out in December.
Sky Surfing: Adventures in a Poetry Balloon.
We're raising the profile of some excellent poets and illustrators as well as making folks aware of Juvenile Arthritis #JAR
Thank you. JH 🎈
Another reminder that anyone who asks you to apply for #WASPI compensation is a scammer - there is no such scheme in place as we wait for the govt to act.

“This govt is giving its full and proper consideration to all areas of the Ombudsman’s report … once this work has been undertaken, we will be in a position to outline our approach.”

Read Ian Byrne MP @IanByrneMP EDM430 ‘Financial Restitution to the Women born in the 1950s’ signed by 87 MPs many of them being @UKLabour!

I seem to be getting it in the neck from just a few Labour supporters on here for criticising the loss to many of the winter fuel allowance. I will continue to shame Labour for doing this. Most do support my opinion on what I have to say about the loss of the WFP. I will continue
We might be unpopular for saying this but we don’t care.
We loathe the use of fireworks, they frighten animals and disturb wildlife and for what?!
They’re utterly pointless! Do you agree?
I was pleased to meet with members of the @WASPI_Campaign from Durham and across the NE in Westminster this week.
Their determination is simply inspirational and they have my full support as their fight for pension justice continues.

‘Waspi women will not be ignored or go away despite Budget omission’
Shelagh Simmons @solent_waspi tells @theipaper how she only found out at 58 that her state pension age had changed - & had already taken voluntary redundancy from her job @WASPI_Campaign

#Waspi women don’t need nebulous phrases like “not kicking this into long grass” or “working at pace”, we need concrete action. Time is not on our side, so this is urgent. https://t.co/2JJ7yiprqx
🚨 BREAKING: Unite takes UK Govt to court over Winter Fuel Payment 🚨
"I do not understand how a Labour Govt has taken away the fuel allowance of millions of pensioners just as winter approaches" @UniteSharon

I was proud to speak at the @WASPI_Campaign demonstration this week outside Parliament after the budget calling for justice for women impacted by pension changes.
I will continue to fight alongside these magnificent campaigners until justice is finally delivered✊

Yes, and incredible that there is a third scandal, justice for #WASPI women as recommended by @PHSOmbudman, for which there is no money set aside in this budget and no commitment even to a time frame.
Bites of Poetry for Coffee Time - for the #poet who likes an interesting read/a small poem to think about/reflect on/make them look deeper into themselves and into life, also a perfect gift for someone you love. 😃
