IPOB Rejects Imo Police Claim of ESN Camp Raid in Oguta, Calls It a Recycled Script

The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra on Tuesday dismissed the Imo State Police Command’s account of a raid in Ubah Agwa, Oguta Local Government Area, saying the command has recycled the same “ESN camp bust” narrative since 2022 and that no such camp exists.

On the exhibits, Okadigbo argued the haul does not match a “fierce gun battle.” He asked where the bullet holes, blood trail, bodies or video were if a firefight had taken place, and questioned how one rifle could represent an entire camp. He described the uniforms, flags, berets, shrine items and photographs as “Nollywood props” and said the inventory was “the exact same” list used after raids in the Ubah Agwa/Izombe forest in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Police have previously announced operations in that same forest belt; an April 2023 statement by Okoye also spoke of a raid in the Ubah Agwa/Izombe tropical forest and listed uniforms, insignia and other items. Read more here https://t.co/OZInHFRXHR

Trump Thanks UN Security Council for Condemning Iran’s Attacks on Shipping

President Donald Trump used his United Nations General Assembly speech on Tuesday to thank the Security Council for condemning Iranian attacks on commercial shipping and to argue that the world must keep the pressure on Tehran.

“I want to thank the U.N. Security Council for voting overwhelmingly to pass a resolution condemning Iran’s despicable terrorist attacks on commercial shipping,” Trump said. “That resolution, I am pleased to say, received more co-sponsors from UN member nations than any Security Council resolution in history. Now, we must be equally united in maintaining pressure.”

NIGERIA GAINS NEW CAPITAL, MARITIME AND SECURITY LEVERAGE

Nigeria’s international position is strengthening on several fronts at once.

The Federal Government’s published National Policing Bill roadmap expired yesterday, but no final public Bill or confirmed transmission to the National Assembly is established in the material reviewed this morning.

That now requires clarification.

At the same time, Nigeria has returned to a major J.P. Morgan emerging-market bond benchmark after eleven years.

India and Nigeria are also seeking to restore bilateral trade towards $15 billion, with renewed Indian interest in Nigerian crude.

And the United States has removed a 12-year maritime-security restriction affecting Nigerian-linked shipping after reported improvements in port security and counter-terrorism compliance.

US military cooperation continues, while ECOWAS is building a stronger regional counter-terrorism architecture.

What does this mean for peaceful Biafran strategy?

It means the case cannot depend upon Nigeria becoming isolated or collapsing.

The stronger proposition is:

Biafran self-determination is a political question and should remain visibly separate from armed activity.

Nigeria has genuine terrorism and security problems.

Peaceful self-determination does not need to deny that reality.

It needs to demonstrate that a demand based on:

democratic consent, non-violence, constitutional dialogue, minority protection and credible statecraft

belongs in a political framework—not a counter-terrorism framework.

The coming UN General Assembly high-level week provides an important opportunity to make that distinction clearly.

Meanwhile, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s appeal remains the central immediate judicial watchpoint.

The meaningful development will be a real Court of Appeal notice, hearing, order or judgment, not another cycle of commentary.

A stronger peaceful case requires stronger institutions, stronger evidence and clearer political discipline.

This article is a reminder of IPOB’s annual Day of Atonement, set for 21 September 2026. It presents the observance as a standing spiritual tradition in the Biafra campaign: a day of fasting, confession, and public prayer rather than a one-off rally. The centre of the piece is healing.

In the movement’s own language, Biafra cannot be restored while the land and the people remain unhealed. Atonement is therefore framed as the yearly reset humility before Chukwu Okike Abiama, repentance for ancestral and present sins, and a plea that God forgive, cleanse holy places, and mend what war, betrayal, and abandoned commandments have broken.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has cautioned Biafrans and the public to stay away from any protest circulated or organised in its name, saying it has not authorised any such action. In a 12 September 2026 memorandum signed by Mazi Expensive, IPOB said no protest has been approved by the Directorate of State under Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem.

The group said it believes provocateurs may be trying to lure people into situations that could lead to arrest, violence or other serious harm. It stressed that it has already lost enough lives, that “avoidable deaths must stop,” and that no political or personal agenda is worth putting families in danger.

Parents were urged to warn their children not to join unauthorised gatherings. IPOB also said it will not accept responsibility for people who join such protests independently and later face arrest, detention or worse. Safety and preservation of lives, it said, remain paramount.

Igbo Community in Burkina Faso Supports Host Country Through Faso Mêbo Initiative

The Igbo community, comprising of Igbo people from Southeastern Nigeria, residing in Burkina Faso has demonstrated their commitment to the development of its host country through a significant donation of construction materials to the presidential initiative, Faso Mêbo.

The community donated 40 tonnes of cement, eight truckloads of sand, eight truckloads of gravel, as well as several shovels and wheelbarrows, with the materials reportedly worth millions of CFA francs. The donation is intended to support ongoing construction and infrastructure development under the Faso Mêbo initiative.
Beyond the immediate value of the materials, the gesture highlights a broader pattern of Igbo diaspora participation in the development of host communities. Across different countries, Igbo entrepreneurs and community associations often contribute to their host societies through investments, employment creation, philanthropy, community projects, religious and educational support, and assistance during periods of social or economic need.

The contribution in Burkina Faso therefore represents more than a donation of construction materials. It reflects the principle that members of a diaspora community can participate actively in the development of the societies in which they live, while maintaining their cultural identity and connections to their homeland.
Igbo communities abroad have historically established businesses and commercial networks that contribute to local economies by creating jobs, paying taxes, supporting supply chains and expanding trade. Beyond commercial activities, community associations frequently mobilise resources for projects that benefit wider society, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, humanitarian assistance and community development.

The Faso Mêbo contribution provides another example of this form of Igbo diaspora engagement. By voluntarily providing materials for a national development initiative in Burkina Faso, the Nigerian Igbo community has demonstrated a willingness to contribute to the progress of its host country, rather than viewing diaspora life solely through the lens of personal economic advancement.

The gesture also reinforces the idea that diaspora communities can become important partners in national development. When migrants and their associations invest their resources, skills and networks in their host societies, they can contribute to stronger relationships between communities and promote social integration and mutual development.

For the Igbo community in Burkina Faso, the donation represents both solidarity with their host country, its government and participation in its development agenda. It is a practical demonstration that Igbo diaspora communities can be not only economic participants in their host countries, but also active contributors to their social and infrastructural development.
