I was in Utrecht recently and wandered in to have a look at this bicycle parking facility. I come from Melbourne and I found this parking amazing. It's so great seeing so many people, of all ages, cycling. It was a joy to cycle in the Netherlands.

Very easy for RBA Governor to say shit like this on his salary. I bet he doesn’t need a second job or reduce his spending habits. What does he want people to cut back on? Heating, food? 🤷‍♀️

The @RBAInfo Governor Philip Lowe said Australian households should reduce their spending habits or pick up additional work hours to afford their increased mortgage repayments.

"If people can cut back on spending, or in some cases, find additional hours of work, that would put them back into a positive cash flow position," he said.

Lowe also acknowledged that people are under "very significant stress" to find additional cash as the RBA continues to lift cash rates to an 11-year high of 4.10%.

However, he remains confident that Australia will be able to reach the 2% to 3% inflation target but did not specify an exact time range for when this goal would be reached.
