The older I get, the more I realize:
- Apologies mean nothing without changed behavior.
- Silence is an answer.
- Respect is earned, not given.
- Growth often feels like losing people you once called family.
Life teaches you in whispers - listen closely.
Have you ever found yourself endlessly scrolling, switching between apps or feeling drained after a "quick" look at your phone? That's social media overstimulation and it's affecting how we think, work and even rest.
Some of us have allowed notifications to control us overwhelming our brains, leaving us feeling distracted and fatigued. Guess what, this is the same reason some of us are emotionally detached to the point we choose negativity towards others over empathy.
Yes, we’re consuming so much, but are we truly engaging? Are we retaining anything meaningful or just chasing the next like, post, comment or video?
Are we in control of our social media habits, or are they controlling us?
I chose to choose decongestion in 2025. I have limited my social media time more, curated my feeds and decided to be intentional about when and why l log on social media.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Have you experienced overstimulation from social media? If so, how do you manage it?
@janetmachuka_ This reminds me of the minimalism documentary. A documentary that is an opener on what we keep in the house yet we actually don't need them or will never use them any given point of their existence in the house https://t.co/0LMbpWuBTD
Life humbles you. As you grow old, you stop chasing the big things and start valuing the little things. Alone time, enough sleep, a good diet, long walks and quality time with loved ones. Simplicity becomes the ultimate goal.
Consistency is often hailed as a key ingredient to success in various aspects of life, whether it’s personal growth, career advancement, or even maintaining healthy habits. While the concept of consistency may seem simple, its impact is deep and far-reaching.

Don’t fall into the trap of trying to do everything yourself, fearing that no one else can do it as well. Identify tasks that can be delegated to employees, contractors, or virtual assistants, freeing up your time to focus on higher-value activities. #iSpeakAfricaChat
