I was in a relationship with someone once

It didn’t work out

It wasn’t that this was a bad person

Infact when the person was good, the person was amazingly good

It’s like the stuff fairytales and movies are made of

It was unreal

I felt like I was living a fantasy

But here’s what happened

This would never last.

Pretty soon I would soon come to discover that I could never predict this person

We could have one day of the most amazing conversation or outing

And then I could be calling this same person for three days and not get a single response

This was what made it unbearable
Even though we had good days

Beautiful days that seemed so sublime, I was always in fear because I was unsure of what would happen the next day

It did not work because of one word

INSTABILITY

I tried all I could to manage, and make excuses for it, but guess what?

When it mattered most, it happened again

In the worst way possible

This post is not about relationships of marriage

As I was meditating on this I keep thinking of the Bible verse that says

“Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel “

If there’s one thing God requires in our relationship and dealing with Him, it’s stability

God does not want to have a relationship with you if you show up on Sunday and have such an amazing time of worship, and cry and weep and be “slayed by His presence”

Then you go back home and forget all about Him during this week

You go back and watch porn and masturbate

You spend the night with your babe you’re not married too

You go clubbing and dine with devils and demons

Then you come back the next Sunday and worship and cry

As I kept thinking about how heartbroken I was in an unstable relationship and how when this person would say “I love you “ a time came when it didn’t mean anything m

Because when you truly love someone, you show up

It doesn’t matter if you’re happy or sad

Your mood doesn’t matter

You show up regardless

Just like Jesus showed up on the cross even when He was not happy about what He was going to go through

Writing “Jesus I love you” on your social media handles does not mean anything if you you’re not consistent with Him

If you show up when you’re in danger and beg for His help

God wand you to Walk with Him

To carry your cross and follow Him daily

Emphasis on Daily

This may shock you, but an unstable believer is not likely to go to heaven

Mediate on this deeply
