@PWRLabTX You don’t have a feel for what’s going on.

It’s not a development job. It’s a talent harvest.
When the dollar jumps in a panic, most people read it as strength. A flight to safety.
Look at March 2020. The dollar rose more than 8 percent in about two weeks. In those same two weeks, the Fed opened new swap lines to get dollars to nine more central banks.
A central bank does not lend dollars to the world because everyone is rushing to buy America. It does that because the world is short of the dollars it owes.
So a dollar that rises in a crisis can be a sign of shortage. Read it as strength and you get the whole picture backwards.
That is the kind of signal I am going through live on Thursday, October 29. How I read it, especially when the headlines say the opposite.

APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE TO ANY TENANTS READING THIS, BUT I’M NOT STAYING QUIET.
I’ve housed you for four years at $1,750 a month. You’ve never been late. You’ve never trashed it. You’ve been a solid tenant. Then I sent the renewal: rent’s going up $275.
YES.
You’ve paid me almost $84,000 over four years. That money covered the mortgage (which I’m still on the hook for if anything goes wrong), property taxes that keep rising, insurance premiums that have jumped hard, maintenance and repairs that cost more every year, and all the other costs of keeping the place habitable and legal.
The equity and any portfolio growth come from the capital I put in, the risk I took, and the fact that I own the asset, not from the rent check itself.
You’re the one writing the check every month for the right to live there. At the end of it, you own nothing because you didn’t buy it, finance it, or take on the ownership risks. I did. If the roof fails, the HVAC dies, a pipe bursts, taxes go up again, insurance spikes, or you leave and it sits vacant, that’s on me.
A $275 increase isn’t “because the market lets me.” It’s because the costs of providing the housing have gone up, insurance, taxes, labor, materials, compliance.
Recent data shows typical homeowners paying ~$1,380 a month just in maintenance, taxes, and insurance on top of the mortgage, with insurance up sharply over the last several years.
Apartment owners have been keeping only about 11 cents of every rent dollar after debt service, operations, taxes, and the rest.
Expenses have often risen faster than rents.
Stop treating landlords like a free housing subscription that never has rising costs. The rent pays for the use of the property and the service of ownership. The equity belongs to the person who bought it and bears the risk.
If you want a version where some of the money eventually becomes yours, buy your own home.

The New York Islanders vs The Dallas Stars
You might remember last season when the Stars went to the USB arena. Mikko Rantanen boarded Alexander Romanov. The incident ended Romanov's season. The NHL legacy media lost their minds in anger (never happens when Dallas Stars players get hurt).
Then Islanders coach, Patrick Roy yelled and screamed at Mikko. Roy was fired last season and replaced by former Stars' coach Pete Deboer.
This will be Mikko's first game versus the Islanders since that happened. Alexander Romanov is on the injured list after suffering a torn ACL earlier in the month.
The Islanders are off to a 5-3-2 start. They are 20% on the power play and 88.2% on the penalty kill. They are ranked 4th in the NHL on the penalty kill. The Dallas Stars are ranked 3rd at 91.7%. #TexasHockey
Round one of “Hagler vs Hearns” is undoubtedly the greatest opening round in boxing history. This should be posted here once a week. I don’t care how many times I see it, it never gets old.
“Prices are determined by supply and demand.”
Cool story. Now explain what determines supply.
One thing that socialists fail to understand is that for supply to exist, someone has to commit capital, take on risk and they expect a sufficient return. That return is calculated AFTER tax my guy, just look at any P&L.
The mistake that Labour keeps making is that it thinks that incentives don’t matter - that entrepreneurs can take the risk and the government can take the rewards.
You raise taxes, they raise prices. If they can’t raise prices they don’t just say cool, no worries, they’ll cut investment, jobs, hold back wage increases - any combination of the three to drive profit. Whichever way you put it, it’s harmful.

🚨BREAKING: Powerful moment as Navy Under Secretary Hung Cao—who fled communist Vietnam as a child—delivers a direct message on immigration:
"Don't come to this country and ask for the American DREAM if you’re not willing to obey the American LAWS and embrace the American CULTURE!"
Cao, a retired Navy captain confirmed as Under Secretary of the Navy in 2025 under President Trump, spoke from personal experience: His family arrived with nothing after escaping communism in 1975. They asked for nothing, built a life through hard work, and he went on to serve 25 years in the Navy, run for U.S. Senate in Virginia in 2024 (as a Trump-endorsed candidate), and now hold a key Pentagon role.
He also highlighted his own story in the remarks: "We came to this country with NOTHING. We asked nothing from this country... together, we will make America great again!"
Airlines JUST Issued a Massive WARNING About Consumer Behavior
Major airlines like JetBlue, American, and Southwest are sounding the alarm on a massive shift in consumer behavior as rising fuel costs collide with a weakening consumer. With bond markets flashing distress signals, consumer sentiment hitting multi-year lows, and companies from American Express to Chipotle seeing demand crack, corporate profit margins are getting squeezed—and history shows layoffs and rising unemployment are next.
