@KibweJohnson@MJGold@GrandSlamTrack I’ve always thought a skins match approach with prize money for best throw each round would be interesting to watch. Forces people to compete every round and not fouling becomes very important. I think it would bring a lot more excitement to every round of competition.
@PaulGlazier I understand this thinking, but it doesn’t fit definitions of an internal focus used in the literature. I would argue they are two different types of external foci. One focusing on the process of the movement and another focusing on an outcome that occurs after the movement.
@CMcCandlessEXS@singh_harjiv@ChrisAikenPhD Good question. You can make the case that the cue used fits the definition of both an external and holistic focus. Sounds like something worth chatting about at @NASPSPA next month.
New accepted paper by @kbecker99 from @UTKCEHHS 🇺🇲 with Marco Avalos, who found that a holistic focus of attention when performing an isokinetic elbow flexion task 💪led to improvements in torque production and EMG activity compared to an internal and external focus of attention

Awesome research by @kbecker99 that challenges the status quo by asking coaches AND researchers to rethink what we take “for granted” based on ‘science’. #GAIN2023
