Final Q: I think the author hopes we will see the reality of the book and how it relates to our world today. As well as the author, I also hope we take lessons from the book and don’t let it turn into our reality. #Johnson101
A5:There is obviously relations you the Japenese internment camps throughout the book, but I also see similarities to the Holocaust. While punishments weren’t nearly as cruel and nowhere near as many lives were lost, people were being looked down upon due to religion. #Johnson101
@c_johnson007 There will definitely be change and new life adjustments for many. It’s hard to say what a normal would be like for those who experienced the camp. I can’t even imagine that being our world.
A4: it will be difficult for the internees to adjust back to their every day lives. The others who weren’t in a camp will probably view the internees differently. The nation will never be the same. #Johnson101
@gracierowva I don’t think it’s possible either. The Muslims will he looked at differently than they were before. I feel like some will feel sorry for them while others will stoll discriminate.
A3: The media brought visual to the inside of the camp. Outsiders knew the camp was probably poor treatment, but the media was able to show what it was really like. This brought the attention of the public and protesters. #Johnson101
The director says this to warn Layla. The other internees begin treating Layla with disrespect and even start threatening to hurt her and her family. #Johnson101
A1: I think the protest helped in a way because it opened the outsiders eyes to what really goes on in the camps. It also brought the attention of the media. #Johnson101
@sam_aye_ahm @mrsjohnsonrowva I think because of the circumstances they are in, Muslim families struggle to show their feelings by action so they are left with nothing but their words. For characters like Jake, he had to prove himself by action. It depends on the situation and circumstances. #johnson101
A3- I’ve always personally thought that actions are stronger than words, but at this point it might be the other way around. There isn’t very much wiggle room to take action, so words become very powerful. #johnson101
A6: Either @sam_aye_ahm will leave us all hanging or she’ll give us a sense of comfort. Either way, I can’t say for certain. I hope the Muslim families make it through safely and can continue with their every day lives. #johnson101
A5: This is an article about a high school senior who took action about COVID-19. I hope we all can take a second to relate and reflect on what he has to say! #johnson101 https://t.co/lrbM59P8L6
I think Jake feels for the Muslims in the camp. He doesn’t necessarily agree with what the government has put in place, but it’s either follow his orders or end up in camp. As of now he can be trusted and he’s proved that, but it could go south. #johnson101
