@FaberEzReal@OliverDelfour@ShitpostRock or fire is stackable flat damage and poison is % damage but non stacking, so you can build for a defensive poison build where you win a war of attrition, or you can play an aggressive fire build that prioritizes keeping fire stacks up. Lots of ways to do things.
@VL2102@number_pizza111 There is still ambiguity, because someone will say blue and you have to guess which of the 6 officially recognized blues they mean or if they actually mean some unofficial blue that exists only in their brain. Or I say teal, but actually I mean more of a dark cyan...
> USAID sends supplies to Syria
> Terrorists take supplies
Elon: "we shouldn't send supplies if they just get taken by terrorists"
Leftist: "LIAR! The image is FAKE! ...well maybe not but the NARRATIVE!"
Reality: USAID spent tax dollars on supplies that ended up with terrorists.
Quote: "This is how USAID spent your tax dollars"
I think people have lost the will to try fact-check this guy due to the volume of lies he spreads.
Also it's actually pretty difficult with this image and quite time consuming.
It just happens I had nothing better to do. /1
@SmasherIsEma@Forlyy_ "Why are all the atheists from Christianity?" Hmm maybe there are punishments for leaving your religion in other faiths that would cause the atheists to hide their atheism to survive. *Glances fearfully at Islam
@vaibway A suggestion: Allow the enemy to continue to pursue up to the last known location, then look around, before returning home. For further detail you could give it the ability to focus (less angle, more range) when it locks onto a target, mirroring predator behavior IRL.
@Maciamo@emubrigadier Cause of death definitions are a constant issue when looking at different countries' reporting. That is also why the US has such a 'bad' infant mortality rate - US includes live births of any age, while European countries don't count before 22 weeks or under 500g.
You will find that, for the median earner in the US, life is pretty good. It takes about 17 hours per week to satisfy basic living needs. For low earners this increases... to 34 hours per week. Even at minimum wage, the amount of work only climbs to 60 hours.
This post raises many questions. What does escaping poverty in this context mean? OECD defines poverty as 50% of median wage, World Bank defines it as $3 per day. A better metric I would suggest would be some basic spending amount for rent, food, utilities, travel.
Additionally, using 20th percentile wage instead of minimum wage might give a better indication of real values, since in many places basically no jobs offer minimum wage.
@Gavranica1@Ultimatum00001@_GirlSay It doesn't really deal with society's reaction, moreso specifically Frankenstein's reaction, which is why I said barely. TBH I don't mind it being considered Science Fiction, but it's definitely still not the first. Bacon's work fits the definition of SF and is older.
@Gavranica1@Ultimatum00001@_GirlSay To define Science Fiction, I would defer to Asimov: "that branch of literature which deals with the reaction of human beings to changes in science and technology." Frankenstein barely fits in this category (the reaction of one human), but it does fit well into other genres.
@Gavranica1@Ultimatum00001@_GirlSay Even if that was the definition of Science Fiction (it isn't), Mary Shelley is not the first person to write a fictional story that involves science. At the very least, we could point to Francis Bacon's 'New Atlantis', which not only is older, but also better matches the genre.
@BucyBuddy@iosav21@Asmongold@RollingStone And when Trump beat Clinton, and when Bush beat Gore... and I could probably cite more but I wasn't born for prior Republican presidents...
@sleepy_devo "Far Right" is a classic motte and bailey. Leftists will call anyone who prefers capitalism "far right", but when you call it out (as in this comic), suddenly far right only means the actual crazies.
As a normal person accused of being far right, I oppose all of your points.
@tekno_cool@SeriousHoax@timsoret "... social affirmation helps with dysphoria." This is false. Social affirmation makes the person feel better about their delusion. It doesn't help them overcome the delusion, which is the reason they are sad in the first place.
@DiphyCue@BuffaloCompact@MoronMining I would say freedom is a metric that has moral weight, so all law being based on morality would necessarily include considerations for freedom.
@DiphyCue@BuffaloCompact@MoronMining It's an opinion statement on one's moral viewpoint. A terrible moral viewpoint, but that should be obvious. If our definition allows for immoral laws, then either the law is wrong or the definition is wrong. Thus, regardless of law or definition, abortion continues to be immoral.
@juanhinojo77 @LutheranAnswers The Christian concept of baptism was born when John began baptizing for repentance instead of ritual cleanliness. Jesus told his disciples to go out and baptize others. There is no way you can claim that it was only made up WAY later.
