— Iowa State only ran two plays in Kansas State territory all night, while scoring 42 points, its second-highest scoring output of the season.

— Iowa State only ran 35 plays to Kansas State’s 102. The Wildcats compiled 32 first downs to Iowa State’s 10. Kansas State held the football for 42:12 compared to 17:48 by the Cyclones. Iowa State averaged 13.9 yards per play.

— Iowa State had five rushing plays for 50-plus yards, which tied a school record. True freshman Abu Sama - in his first career start - tallied 276 yards (fourth most in school history). Sama came the first player in Big 1 history to have two 70-plus yard rushing touchdowns in a game since Adrian Peterson in 2005.

Most importantly, Iowa State caps off a 7-5 regular season after a tumultuous offseason, losing five starters a week before the season and that unforgettable loss at Ohio in September.

Iowa State started six true freshmen in this game. More football to come this season, but the future is bright.
