@YanPeronn Never a penalty. Defender stepped in front of the attacker’s foot, which then went into the back of the defender’s foot. It’s like when the attacker goes to strike the ball but the defender steps in front of the striker’s foot and gets kicked. Foul by the attacker every time.
@andystake88 lol…. top of the box, unopposed, facing the goal. that is a shooting moment 10 out of 10 times. Definitley not an easy finish. He showed great quality to execute the way he did. Had he passed up that opportunity to shoot, i think he’d have been ripped big time.
@DonnieandDhali Doesn’t speak to the actual performance of the two. Being impressed should be based on overall performance and impact only, and not the relative gap between expectation and performance. Rossi has revitalized Boeser. Something that didn’t look possible for the past two seasons.
@DonnieandDhali The responses to this highlight a bit of the problem with this fanbase. Everything is based purely on expectations. Discounting Rossi’s performance and impact since being healthy, because there were no expectations of Ohgren at all, is a problem.
@TheStanchion Retiring 43 for Hughes would be a dark day for the organization. One of any of the three reasons you listed should be enough for the organization to not retire his number. All three? Yikes. Clown show it they were to do that.
@RJHenderson7 Looked pretty decisive to me.
Fake shot to get the goalie to commit. No hesitation on that. Once goalie committed, Petey tried to deke. Good save in the end.
Thought there was very little indecisiveness here actually.
@sekeresandprice Do not give it to Boeser. He’s been on the trading block more times than any other player on the roster. Was a key member of the original country club culture mob. Has never brought a consistent level of fight. Some big moments for the team? Yes. Captain material? Nope.
@nhltraderumours Who’s going to play center for Vancouver ? People love projecting these trades, but seem to forget that acquiring centers of standard in this league is quite literally impossible. It’s a big reason why Blueger wasn’t traded at the deadline.
@nucksjaysnraps@FarhanLaljiTSN Hoglander has not been a favorite of any of the past three or four Canucks’ coaches. Same old story of fans questioning why his minutes are down and his role is deminiahed. Maybe it isn’t the coaches ? 🤔
@jabo_vancouver There’s a reason 3 of the 4 were traded. Horvat was the leader of the original country club culture. Miller, top player at times, but clearly flawed character and personality. Hughes, great player, but immature and not ready to lead in the way this group needed. Petey… yeah.
@miketgould Incentivize clubs to do what they can to win over the course of the entire season. Pick a cut off date. 2 thirds of the season. Bottom 8 teams at that point now play to see who gets 1st overall pick. Team out of those 8 with most points over final 27 games automatically gets it.
@brookwardsports Stop making it about nationality. Two of the biggest busts for the Canucks draft wise in the recent past have been Canadian. Cody Hodgson and Jake Virtanen. Total busts. Both set the franchise back.
@DonnieandDhali@FarhanLaljiTSN People need to stop pretending that Horvat wasn’t viewed as part of the problem in terms of a country club culture. A lot of these same members of the media were praising the deal initially. It led to getting Hronek. No issues when they made it to game 7 of the 2nd round either.
@DonnieandDhali@ThomasDrance Benning will go down as one of, if not the, worst GMs in Canucks history. Not good with communicating his ideas. Seemingly even worse at executing his ideas. Scouting and drafting were said to be his strength… not a great track record there. Then the fumbling of the UFA stuff.
