I totally agree social media has an impact on identity formation. Although I consider myself true and transparent, I would be lying if I said my face-to-face self is 100% the same as my online self. #educ307 #lesson6

Government censorship is interesting. I remember when I was studying abroad in Europe, most of the Canadian websites I tried to visit were blocked. I could never understand why I was not allowed to visit Canadian News Channel websites from Europe, but now it makes sense #educ307

What you ever deconstructed an issue so much you lost the essence of it? As much as I think deconstruction is necessary in research, asking too many questions can also harm the simple concept of a given issue. #lesson6

Throughout this whole class #educ307 we talked about human relationships and connections. Personally, when I am hanging out with someone and they make me forget about my phone, I consider we have a strong connection. What do you guys think?

@MariellenStath1 I can also link memory to problem solving. Before having access to mass information on the internet, people had to reflect and find solutions/answers. I think not practicing our memory and having everything at the tip of our fingers negatively affects critical thinking skills.

@JulietteDion9 I totally agree. On the other hand, with so many resources and databases, it is also easy to get lost. Just because the title of an article seems great does not mean it is a quality article. #lesson8

@WKhalid96 Just the fact that what you see in based on an "algorithm" says a lot about the presence of hierarchies on social media. There are even a bunch of online training to learn how to use the said algorithm in your favour. #lesson5 #educ307

#lesson4 and the notion of communication made me think of the following quote: people will forget what you said and what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. #educ307 You can't feel everything through a device.. so you're missing out!

@JulietteDion9 I studied abroad for a semester in Sweden (Gothenburg) and Europeans totally had stereotypes of Canadians and Americans! It was interesting to hear all their assumptions about us, and how Canadians and Americans differ from each other.

When I visualize the theory of constructivism, I just see a person getting lost in a city and that is how they understand the geographical configuration of this given city lol. Like... You don't really master a concept until you are facing a problem you shall solve by yourself.

@DylanSzabo5 Playing outside with friends is the best memory of my childhood! Yet all my little cousins say playing outside is boring because they "don't know what to do"... It's like children do not know how to play these days. Just spontaneous, fun, interactive play.

@Natasha90439549 Personally, I choose not to use Google hangouts because it sends an email notification every time someone enters/shares/replies and it is as easy to use and convenient as messenger!

@veronic63789902 True, but have you thought about the negative sides of mass access to information. Not knowing, for example, the difference between a legitimate authour/resource and a biased one?
