I have watched politicians lie. I have watched bureaucrats cover their tracks. I have watched courts twist themselves into knots to protect the powerful while destroying anyone who dares expose them. But nothing… absolutely nothing… compares to the rage I felt watching what the State of Colorado just did to Tina Peters.

A grandmother. A whistleblower. A Gold Star Mother. A woman who believed she was protecting election records exactly as federal law required.

And for that, they dragged her into a courtroom, humiliated her, stripped her of her rights, blocked her defense, denied her evidence, silenced her witnesses, threw her into a prison cell, isolated her when she became sick, and then lined up behind a judge who seemed more interested in punishing her beliefs than upholding the law.

This is not justice. This is political retaliation. And I am sick to my stomach seeing it happen in America.

I know Tina. I’ve spoken with her.

I’ve watched her fight not for herself but for transparency, chain of custody, and evidence preservation. The things every honest election should depend on. And to see her now suffering in a freezing prison cell while the very officials she exposed walk free is more than wrong.

It is obscene.

When a government punishes the people who ask questions and protects the people who erase evidence, the country is no longer governed by laws.
It is governed by fear.

And after seeing Tina’s sentencing with my own eyes, I am done pretending otherwise.
