BREAKING: NPR drops bombshell, reveals that it’s quitting Twitter permanently over Twitter owner Elon Musk’s “exceptionally harmful” and “dangerous” decision to shamelessly and inaccurately label NPR as “government-funded media.”
In a scathing press release, NPR accuses Musk of “undermining” its “credibility” by “falsely implying that we are not editorially independent.”
Here is NPR’s full statement:
“We are not putting our journalism on platforms that have demonstrated an interest in undermining our credibility and the public’s understanding of our editorial independence. Actions by Twitter or other social media companies to tarnish the independence of any public media institution are exceptionally harmful and set a dangerous precedent.”
Not surprisingly, Twitter and Musk did not return requests for comment on NPR’s announcement from NBC News.
Please RT and ❤️ to thank NPR for taking a stand against Elon Musk — and please consider joining the exodus to https://t.co/3VM3MqTSy0, a new pro-democracy Twitter competitor I created that is taking off like wildfire since Elon Musk banned their Twitter account last week — but forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/0c9FDbB14A
Tennessee GOP woke up today and thought...man that @Justinjpearson is an inspiring speaker. Let's do some stupid shit and make sure that as many people hear his message as possible.
@brewerytravels Live in one (and have been for many years), grew up in the other (and spend a lot of time there) and current the vote is correct. No way in the aggregate NC has better beer than OR.
@brewerytravels @camdenfarmer Agreed, this is the toughest vote thus far. I voted IL for Bourbon County (specifically Prop), Phase 3, Hop Butcher and Revolution however MA has the 2 heavyweight T's, among others.
@BeerAdvocate Considering I've been to both multiple times, have been to several breweries in both, and don't have a dog in the hunt I'm going to go with the city that has the single best brewery between them and that's BKS in KC.
@KeyJayandMax @keyshawn is there really an NFC team worthy?
TB scored 1 offensive TD, NO needed Lutz to kick a 50 yarder to beat the Mariottas, going further down the list Minn beat a GB team that uses week 1 as a preseason extension and Philly gave up 35 to Goff. Rest of NFC stunk.
