Every so often, this incident comes up on social media and everybody has a laugh at the ignorant biologist that didn't know basic math. I think this case illustrates something very toxic about the way many of us think about a life in science.

New preprint: human lice are not only a itchy nuisance but also have some very unusual genetics: males inherit and express genes from both parents, but eliminate their fathers DNA from their sperm! This insight is important for pesticide resistance evolution
