@HITCSevens@jackandloz FIFA suspended the final two games of Cristiano Ronaldo's three-game ban for an alleged elbow at Dara O'Shea during Portugal's World Cup qualifier against Ireland.
Ronaldo was set to miss the opening two games of the World Cup before FIFA intervened, citing the same article 27.
@PocketAcesFPL@ngacoz@SkySportsNews I thought the South African red card for the head contact against Mexico could have had this used but it was never brought up!

@PocketAcesFPL@ngacoz@SkySportsNews It’s a totally random implementation by FIFA, I completely agree. But interesting all the “outrage” is for the American player but not a peep when used to get to get Ronaldo cleared, after he elbowed a player in the head(very lightly to be fair). FIFIA is a joke as well.

@ngacoz@SkySportsNews It’s the exact rule they used to suspend Ronaldo’s red card from the Ireland match that would have seen him miss the first two games of the WC.
@mariahickey1976 Goal scorer not offside and ball deflecting off an Australian player coupled with the other US players not active to a point it infringes or block the Ausie goalkeeper
@SoxMach_pnoles Completely agree. 8 runs against the best team in Baseball and only one off a homer. 7 manufactured runs is the sign of a very good team.
