If these 7 independent TD’s had voted against the government yesterday the count would have been 85 - 85 so the deciding vote would have rested with the Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy, who is also an independent.
The Power rested with these so called Independent TD’s they should have represented our voices, but they didn’t!
Here are the list of names that voted Tá in yesterday’s no confidence vote on the government. Remember these names in our next election and make sure these people who clearly don’t care about the people of this country never get in power again. #noconfidence#fuelprotest
@Aoifedwkl@twohig_seamus These protesters helped anyone who has medical appointments/ hospital workers get to there jobs. I’ve seen countless videos like this one.
@roc48728@BorealFella ….The only incident I have heard of anyone not getting through was after the protesters were talking to a lady in Limerick who needed to go to a medical appointment. She was let through by the protesters but it was actually the guards who wouldn’t let her through.
@roc48728@BorealFella The protesters didn’t block people from attending medical appointments. Anyone who was going to hospital to work or for medical appointments were let through by the protesters.….
No protesters stopped us from getting to Dublin for Katie’s appointment tomorrow. In fact, they went out of their way to help us.
We were shown kindness, support, and understanding from people who owed us nothing. So let’s be very clear, the problem is not the protesters. The problem is a system that has left families like ours fighting for far too long.
While others point fingers, we are the ones living this reality. And today, the people being blamed were the very ones offering help.
@Kieran_Eire Fuel will be rationed for ambulances and other emergency services if it gets to that but hopefully the government will listen to there people and lower the price of fuel before it ever gets to that.
@Digger_forum Photos and what you “saw” yesterday versus what the hse are actually saying are two separate things. So I think one of ye is lying here. And I don’t think it’s the hse…
@X2022009686776 ……“hold on now lads, little old Ireland isn’t happy with fuel prices, we’ll stop the war”. That’s just the reality. But our government can act on the impact it’s having on people here by lowering fuel taxes. They can help with immediate affect but they aren’t.
@X2022009686776 This protest is about getting fuel taxes reduced with immediate effect something our government can actually do to help. Unfortunately, countries like Iran, Israel, and America aren’t going to say…..
@twohig_seamus Leave with plenty of time and there’ll get there. I know plenty of people from down the country who had doctors appointments and got there on time. It’s down to time management for the moment.
@Kieran_Eire If the government actually listened to the demands to reduce fuel taxes, people would go home and this wouldn’t be happening. The blame lies with the government not the people who are being priced out of being able to work.
@binmanbenn @SuzanneLC3 As you can see here in this video I personally took from that same exact bridge on the other side. The vehicles driving here had no part in the protest and continued past it.
@binmanbenn @SuzanneLC3 This lorry along with many other cars and lorry’s were not apart of the protest as they were still working and drove on the hard shoulder to pass it. So my point still stands. Glad I could clear that up for you 😊
@bconin8 Yes it’s unfortunate but this is a last resort protest. I know plenty of businesses who are losing money by working as of current due to the price of fuel. People can’t just sit at home and do nothing or nothing will change unfortunately.
@helenmc46972890@SuzanneLC3 Where did I say people heading to hospital appointments aren't important in this video?
I'm glad to see emergency services still being able to get through. It's unfortunate if anyone missed there hospital appointments, but they were well warned about the protests to leave early.
