I spoke about this issue at @NoE_ENT and BSHENT a couple of years ago - regional policies are vital to make the most of dwindling health and social care budgets.
Women in the North of England live shorter lives, work more hours for less pay, are more likely to be an unpaid carer, and more likely to live in poverty than women in other regions of England, according to a new report published by @_HENorth.
The anniversary of the #Peterloo Massacre is this week. It is in this spirit that this #ConstituencyTuesday we thought we would focus on the fight for enfranchisement in Manchester during the 18th and 19th century. (1/7)

@ENT_UK Both identify the importance of mentors in pushing them to take on leadership roles, and recognising the barriers to women in surgical leadership.
This evening’s @UKWENTs webinar kicking off this evening with Clare McNaught, the first female VP of @RCSEd, on her path to leadership.
She feels you often have to take on the difficult roles (e.g. Clinical Director) to really learn how things work in the NHS.
Next we have @ENT_UK President Helen Cocks reflecting on her “meandering and serendipitous” path to leadership.
This included a lesson in taking responsibility when a water fight caused havoc in the medical school common room!
Good morning to everyone joining us at @RCSnews for the @UKWENTs Leadership Course! Looking forward to a great programme today on building leadership skills in #ent surgery
