@MichaelKnabel NKC proper has a daytime population of over 30k. Lots of commuters that wouldn’t have to travel by car to get to work. Plus, they’ve been building multifamily like crazy the last few years which would help drive TDD sales taxes down the entire corridor
@berniegriffkins@MastheAce25@MaggieLJohnson This whole exchange is getting out of hand. The Bears share a really nice facility with the AA club. They played there prior to purchase and relocation of the AA club. It’s all semantics. We can agree it’s nice and that como’s renovated stadium with the bricks looks neat too.
@MaggieLJohnson Lacks context, whatever you want to call it. Both the AA team and the Bears are permanently headquartered and have training facilities there. The university’s largest donor paid for the stadium. It’s a shared endeavor.
@MaggieLJohnson No. It’s a shared stadium. I get dunking on little brother, but it’s misleading. The Bears played there before the Cards relocated the AA team from El Paso. It’s just the way the contracts are structured to covering for operating costs.
We’ve spent $49,000 per win so far on Cuonzo Martin in his second stint.
Paul Lusk, including his buyout, cost about $30,190 per win.
Let that sink in!
@ChadMcEvoy I think part of the rationale is that the move “buys” more than $23m in longterm exposure. Additional “buy” game revenues (~$1m per game), midweek ESPN TV rights, plus reduced Olympic sport expenses in the Big West can keep the financials somewhat comparable.
@alireis@HellbenderSTL However, the difference in tuition costs doesn’t really make up for lost opportunity for domestic players. Having 12-15 foreign players paying ~$2k more in tuition per semester doesn’t really matter to a school with 27,000 students.
@alireis@HellbenderSTL Before the House v NCAA settlement, men’s sports outside football & basketball split ~12 scholarships per team. Technically, every player can get a full ride now, but most schools can’t afford to do that.
@WyattWheeler_ Any thoughts on why the team plateaued after the NIT appearance? Seems like Moore, Mason & Mogbo definitely had enough juice to make up for the loss of Mosley & Prim.
