Kandinsky Circles
The preschool children at Carnegie CCC are engaged with circular loose parts to represent Kandinsky early work with "Several Circles. The children follow the foundation of engagement to 'explore ideas, experiences, and increasingly their complex' thinking.

The children in the Troopers room at St Monica made an indoor fire pit this morning using loose parts. Different conversations were made and the children’s imagination came to life. We decided to also roast marshmallows and sing camp fire songs
Jellyfish Creations!
FDK children created their own Jellyfish puppets, this activity helps children practice their fine motor skills using scissors and allows them to show off creative side
Enjoying literacy through play! Children were invited to explore letter boards and sand trays in the preschool room at St. Monica CCC. This child surprised his teachers by making the letter A for his name in the sand tray! He sure was proud of himself!
“Clay?!"
One of the Dreamers at the STM location of KCCE was exploring and observing how the texture of clay was changing when she added some water or pressed a wet sponge onto it.

Cup challenge
The FDK 1 children from Carnegie CCC were given small plastic cups to play. They started to use their creative skills to build pyramids, walls, canons and a telescope.
The children at Carnegie CCC were given red paint with black feathers to recreate Georgia O’Keeffe’s Oriental Poppies painting. The children used the red paint on the paper and glued the black feathers for the black part of the poppy.
Georgia O'Keeffe’s is our artist of the month, the toddlers at Carnegie used the bottom of pop bottles to dip into paint and stamp on their paper to make an outline of a flower.
Stem Challenges - We did amazing engineering challenges that stimulates the children’s creativity and critical thinking skills. We also built a Marble Run.

Christ the King (Superstars) SA#2) have been learning about computers. The children learned that Charles Babbage invented the first mechanical computer in 1822.
The Incredibles (kindergarten children) at Black Walnut were excited to use the loose parts to recreate builds they have seen before. One child made the CN Tower, “this is CN tower, it’s really big and tall!” stated the child.
The toddlers at Carnegie CCC are wrapping up the artist of the month for February; Romero Britto by creating art using black tape, pompoms, cut up pipe cleaners, feathers and sequins with glue to make these 3D patterns.
The FDK 1 children at Carnegie CCC used clay to create a building. With the texture of the clay, children need to go through construct, destruct and mold again in order to form their building.
The children in the FDK 2 classroom at Carnegie are learning about Black History Month by listening to stories and watching videos, all while creating abstract art to represent who they are.
