i hate it when people say “if you love me, you'll accept me as i am”. loving you doesn’t mean tolerating your refusal to develop emotional intelligence and heal your dysfunction. if you loved you, you would do the work so people who love you don’t feel forced to walk away.
I’m glad that in adulthood I’ve realized that I’m not responsible for the pedestal anyone puts me on. I didn’t ask to be there. My only responsibility is to be kind and be real, not perfect.
I don't engage in combative energy at all. If it's not solutions-oriented and positive spirited, keep it. Going back and forth is for people who have that type of time to spare.
my mom once told me “accountability will always feel like an attack when you are not ready to acknowledge how your behavior harms others” and that shit is real.
