Just watched an advert on Citizen tv that
All Inua Jamii beneficiaries ( Elderly) and people living with Disability should register with Kes 100 to Safaricom to be receiving their monthly stipend from the Government’s social Assistance program.
This is absurd.
These elderly are just recipients of the meagre income of Ksh 2,000 and shouldn’t be forced to pay to register to a platform yet , safaricom will still charge a transaction fee for every transaction.
This is purely exploitation.
safaricom as a business should make effort at their cost to register our elderly so as to enjoy the business derived from transactions monthly and in-fact, give them free mobile sets.
This should actually be a social responsibility project, to give back to the society.
So who is getting this money; government or Safaricom?
There are about 1.7 M under the Inua Jamii program so this a whooping 170 million to be collected from the most vulnerable group in life .
This is very insensitive, trying to milk a cow whose teats have vanished; painful it is.
