Ukrainian former POWs and civilians have recounted sexualized torture they suffered in Russian camps, as evidence grows that the practice has become a core tactic https://t.co/SIvk9c9oBs
Unfortunately, many ignore that #MH17 was shot down not by separatist irregulars, but by a regular unit of the Russian armed forces that had intruded Ukrainian territory (and left again hastily after the mass murder). Their supreme commander was and is Vladimir Putin.
@JITMH17
Today, Boris Mikhailovich Zabarko—a former ghetto prisoner, chairman of the All-Ukrainian Association of Jewish Minors and Young Children Who Were Prisoners of Concentration Camps and Ghettos, and a renowned Ukrainian historian and Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine—was injured as a result of a russian attack
His house was hit… shrapnel lacerated the body of 90-year-old Boris, who miraculously survived Hitler’s Nazis and the ghetto, and now the russian “liberators” as well.
He dedicated his life to preserving the memory of the Holocaust and bearing witness to the truth about crimes against humanity. And today, in the 21st century, he has once again become a victim of terror—this time at the hands of the russians!
More details to follow
Do not delay decisions on air defense for Ukraine! This is our main request to our partners after Kyiv suffered a night of horror.
At least 10 people have been killed as a result of Russia’s brutal attack against the Ukrainian capital with all types of missiles and drones.
Sadly, this number may further rise. Rescue teams continue their work.
Russia targeted residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. War criminal Putin can only wage a vile and terroristic war against civilians, women and children. Because in his war against Ukraine’s Defense Forces he cannot achieve a single result.
Such strikes are grave war crimes and we are informing all partners and international organisations about them, calling for accountability and strong responses.
On the second day of my working trip to Japan, I will be informing all of my interlocutors about this strike and the need to increase pressure on the aggressor and support for the Ukrainian people.
We demand strong international responses. Not only words of condemnation but concrete action to stop Russian terror.
Decisions on air defense systems and missiles for Ukraine are needed right now, not later!
Decisions to increase sanctions pressure on Russia are needed right now, not later!
Decisions to increase support for Ukraine, including energy assistance, are needed right now, not later!
I also want to particularly emphasise that it is immoral to justify Russian atrocities against Ukrainians by saying that Moscow acts in response to Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russia.
In this war, there is an aggressor and a country defending itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Russia has no right to make any strikes against Ukraine, while Ukraine has every right to respond, defend from aggressor, and strike any legitimate military targets in Russia.
Do not equate an aggressor and a country defending from aggression. Do not justify atrocities that cannot be justified.
This war is not only about Ukraine, it is about principles. And we need everyone in the world to be principled at this challenging time.
Non-stop ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv tonight. I pray for the success of Ukraine's air defense and that no innocent lives are harmed. May G-d protect Ukraine. 🇺🇦🙏
russia attacked the Kherson Region and Kharkiv with drones, killing a person and wounding 11 more, including 2 women aged 65 and 72.
