Use is officially banned. Even having it open while doing research in the library is apparently taboo.

60% of the class is anti-AI (many still use it, but discreetly).
30% is pro-AI and uses it as a shortcut.
10% are pro-AI, use it extensively to get ahead.

This is at a top 20 engineering school.

@sincethestudy It’s no longer relevant for an engineer to know the syntactical minutia of their implementation. That’s what the LLM is for. Your job is to evaluate their strategy. I’m supportive of Leetcode interviews with pseudocode, but functional code by hand in an interview in 2026? Archaic
