.@senthomtillis, thanks for nothing! Because of your inaction, millions of Americans are losing their COVID unemployment benefits, just as rent and bills are due tomorrow #ExtendUI#SaveThe600
Here’s what’s driving a lot of educator fear on reopening schools: We’ve been conditioned to work without sufficient resources and just “figure it out,” and we have no reason to believe this time will be different. But the stakes... #nced#ncpol#ncga
Better late than never... Welcome to the conversation on disproportionately effected communities. No offense, and I only speak for myself, doubt you can really bring much to the table here... 🤔
Everyone, please give your @nchousedems@NCSenateDems a huge round of applause. We held with Governor Cooper and stopped a lot of bad legislation today by sustaining his vetoes. Our #1 priority is the health and safety of North Carolinians. Help us #breakthemajority RT #ncpol
Smartest thing I heard from a supt recently:
As part of reopening planning, arrange a simulated school day (or even 1/2 day) for key stakeholders (supt, bd, union pres, etc) to "attend" school under draft plan.
From bus to class to bathroom, walk in their shoes b4 deciding.
@Mike_Pence@WhiteHouse I have never felt more insignificant than today. The words of my President, the words of Besty DeVos and finally, your words hurt. My life matters. The lives of my colleagues matter. The lives of my students and their families matter. The fact that my leaders don't see that...😪
Today, we protected the interests of public health at the NCGA. Because of your hard work breaking the supermajority, @NC_Governor’s vetos were sustained. Data and science will continue to guide our State’s COVID-19 response, not partisan politics.
My biggest takeaway from this pandemic is that teachers/schools are expected to fix ALL of societies needs from childcare, to food, to counseling, to intellect on defunded budgets, disrespect from lawmakers, & with no regard to the health or well-being of school employees. #MOLeg
@markdjewell I wish I was a delegate so I could vote for Mark. Hope everyone else who was elected as delegate is showing up for virtual events and voting too!
@henry_carlee Yes! There are lot of people who still don't wear masks out in public and some who even still don't follow the social distancing guidelines.. why? Because they believe they won't get the virus!!
