Some could make an argument that mocking this has a lil hint of misogyny and how you have to posture to be taken seriously around it, but that will not be me. (That said the Hockey For Her logo is… something)
Not quote tweeting because I don’t want to actually Join Discourse but I think that Blue Jackets paint and sip event sounds cool and it’s fine to admit some women like craft nights and ugly wooden signs, AND hockey!!!
And like they get to talk to the on-ice officials about making calls?? That’s rad and if Minnesota did that I might go. It’s not saying “this is what all women hockey fans like,” to offer an activity for people with different interests than are often offered here!
Also had a nice time at the organized labor panel I was on and even narrowly managed to talk about how great unions are WITHOUT crying on the first day of my period?? Champion behavior.
Had a nice time at the No Shame Reading panel this morning but at one point a presenter said “anything you can think of, it’s on AO3” and I immediately thought “OH no one on this panel has been in the small fandom trenches”
Look I hold back a lot of wedding planning tweets but the other day I finished assembling my veil and I walked into the room to show it off and was greeted with “ooh, it’s a ghOoOost!!”
This is dismissive of real criticisms her constituents have of her.
No one is arguing that her life experiences don’t give her better insight into issues. The argument is that she has failed to create real change and has allied herself with people who do not want change
I wrote for @Slate about why now is the best time in decades to form a union. If you've ever thought about unionizing, or even if you haven't, maybe give it a shot now! (And check out my article and this little 🧵) 1/x https://t.co/UVtpAO30nx
y’all have no respect for the ppl who make your life easier. the person making your morning coffee deserves a livable wage. the person stocking the groceries you buy deserves a livable wage. the person cleaning the restrooms in the office you work at deserves a livable wage.
You cannot be serious. How on earth can you read this and believe it’s either thoughtful or well-written? It’s a vapid, simplistic, and cruel “hey, I’ve got a brilliant idea” response to the result of decades of policy choices.
