Where were these jokers when these their own party was giving all our jobs to China? Not one word. Now that Trump is actually bringing jobs back home, suddenly they've discovered the working stiff. Too late now! You've already driven all those workers to Trump.

When I was in college in the late 70s/early 80s, nuclear was a major threat to the environment, going to 'poison the planet', 'irradiate the world for 500 years.' There were protests and marches warning about the danger. Now, it's become the clean alternative. @UnoMasReactor: Has the modern industry settled the nuclear waste issue? That always seemed the big catch with wide-spread adoption of nuclear power. Has that been solved?
Including Chernobyl and Fukushima, nuclear is safer than wind and cleaner than everything
For many of us, Josh included, nuclear is also responsible for both our nice-to-haves and our life support systems
The world needs more nuclear energy
Hard to believe this has to be explained. The rent is charged based on the value of the asset being offered. This has nothing to do with who owns it. Whether they be corporations, partnerships, or your reported unworthy people who inherit. That ownership is entirely irrelevant to the item on offer. They charge the rate the market will pay.
@AndrewYang When the Academy actively antagonizes and attacks male students, it's no wonder they are no longer going to college in the numbers they used to. Why would they put up with that for multiple years when they can make more money as a plumber or electrician than most college grads.
@TiffanyFong My absolutely beautiful 12-year-old granddaughter insists on wearing makeup everyday. I tell her she looks much prettier without it, but ‘all the other girls are doing it’ comes back in reply. Women do themselves a grave disservice doing this.
If Lindsay Clancy is found innocent because hormones made her emotionally unstable, women better be very careful celebrating that verdict.
Because the law loves PRECEDENT.
From that day forward, every job application is going to have a new question:
“Are you currently hormonal?”
“Well, I’m a woman.”
“Thank you. I think we’ll be going in another direction.”
You can’t carry a weapon anymore. No female police officers. Sorry, but we cannot hand a loaded gun to somebody whose legal defense might eventually be, “My hormones were acting up.”
No more high-stress jobs, either. No air-traffic controllers. No surgeons. No nuclear-launch codes. One bad hot flash and boom 💥 Canada is glowing.
And women definitely can’t be judges. How can you decide whether somebody else is emotionally stable when your own gender just established in court that hormones can make you kill three people?
No female politicians, either. You can’t be trusted to run the country if, according to your own argument, your endocrine system occasionally takes over the government.
And custody hearings are going to change overnight.
The judge will say, “Ordinarily, children belong with their mother. However, according to the Lindsay Clancy precedent, she may be only one hormone away from a Netflix documentary. The children go with Dad.”
Dad doesn’t know their shoe sizes, the pediatrician’s name or which one is allergic to peanuts, but his testosterone has never been successfully used as an insanity defense.
Feminists spent a hundred years saying women are not hysterical, irrational creatures controlled by their biology and one defense attorney walks into court and says, “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury… have you considered the uterus?”
You cannot demand equal authority and then ask for discounted accountability.
If women want equal rights, great. But equal rights come with equal wrongs.
Otherwise, that glass ceiling is about to become a padded ceiling.
No. When I first started drinking whiskey many years ago, I was pretty much a Scotch drinker. Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Abelour, Balvenie (and I still like them). But in time, I tried Jameson Black Barrel (still one of my all-time favorites) and made a gradual switch to Irish as a preference. Jameson, Tullamore DEW, Redbreast, etc. It seemed light yet tasty. And began to appreciate American bourbons more. I was never a fan of peaty or heavy whiskies which makes Irish a perfect fit. I agree with you on Jack Daniels, but think you were too harsh on my beloved Jameson!
@FreddyLA7 Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, on gameday is a magical place. Very energetic fans and active traditions. Make sure you go early. The pre-game traditions are a lot of fun, especially the Wabash Cannonball. https://t.co/vkWcs0zzql
FDR is the most overrated president in American history and it is not close.
People treat him like a saint. The reality is he inherited a recession and turned it into the longest depression in the history of the developed world. Every other major economy on earth recovered faster than the United States did under FDR. Sit with that. We had the most resources, the most industry, the most capacity, and we recovered slower than countries that got bombed.
Unemployment was still 19% in 1938. Six years into the New Deal. Six years of "bold experimentation" and one in five Americans still could not find work.
Why? Because his policies were economically illiterate. The NIRA cartelized entire industries and made it illegal to lower prices during a deflationary collapse. He paid farmers to slaughter livestock and plow under crops while people stood in bread lines. He launched a war on business so aggressive that investment dried up because nobody knew what insane rule was coming next. Even his own Treasury Secretary, Henry Morgenthau, admitted in 1939 that they had spent enormous sums and "it does not work" and that unemployment was as high as when they started.
Then in 1937 his policies triggered a second brutal crash so embarrassing the textbooks gave it its own polite little nickname, the "Roosevelt Recession," so they would not have to attach his name to the failure in the obvious way.
A UCLA study in 2004 concluded the New Deal prolonged the Great Depression by roughly seven years. Seven years of extra suffering sold to you as heroism.
So what actually saved the economy? Not the alphabet agencies. Not the fireside chats. A world war. Twelve million men shipped overseas and the entire planet's industrial competition reduced to rubble. That is the "recovery." That is the legacy.
Strip away Pearl Harbor and FDR is a guy who took a bad recession and stretched it into a decade of misery with bad economics and a cult of personality. He is not ranked on results. He is ranked on the luck of being in the chair when Hitler invaded Poland.
Greatest marketing job in the history of the presidency. Nothing more.
@WesternLensman Only someone that lives in a liberal bubble can think that 60 Minutes is not biased. All you have to do is point to the doctored Kamala Harris interview. Perfect case in point, but there are many, many more. It's often not what they reported as much as what they didn't.
Eric Church gave the Commencement speech at UNC-Chapel Hill this year. I wish all young people could watch this and take it to heart. Worth watching: "You were made uniquely, wonderfully, distinctly. The world does not need another cover song -- it needs an original."
