A private jet set to fly to Texas to pick up Yadier Molina and his family crashed shortly after takeoff in La Romana on Sunday.

The pilot and co-pilot, the only two people on board, did not survive.

Molina shared the news on his own social media. The Gulfstream attempted an emergency return to the airport before going down and bursting into flames. An investigation into the cause is underway.

Our thoughts are with the families of the two crew members and with Yadi during this difficult time.
