August was a cracking month for books! So many absolutely fabulous reads.
I read 36 in total. 25 were ARCs, and 11 I owned. 24 adult fiction, 9 kids/YA, 3 Non-Fiction. 2 were debuts and a whopping 14 were five stars!
We are SO excited to share the beautiful cover of #TheWritersRoom: The Hidden Worlds That Shape the Books We Love by @kdc_lewin.

Feminists and trans activists are coming together to stand against this attack, because it affects us all. All women, especially women of colour and anyone who doesn't look 'feminine enough', will suffer from this. Increased police powers are dangerous to everybody.

This is devastating & enraging.
And even more enraging to know that the @bbc & @guardian etc will ignore these stories because they don't see Palestinians as human.
Solidarity & healing for this poor soul & freedom for all who remain behind bars.

I agree with what this guy says but am amazed that he seems to have successfully laundered his reputation so we forget he boasted about beating a fox to death
Late to the party, but my 2024 reading was a little scant (blame baby, book and work). It was, however, mostly taken up with the wonderful work of Ayşegül Savaş. So much in there about home, the city, writing, authenticity. Desperate for others to have read her so we can chat...
Shut down Times Square for New Year’s. No fireworks while bombs are falling. No celebrations while lives are taken by imperialism. Solidarity > silence.
We love to see it NEW YORK 🗽
FYI MAINSTREAM NEWS IS NOT COVERING THIS SO YOU COVER IT!
