Hey @LeaderJohnThune! If you leave town without passing the SAVE Act ... you’re telling every American citizen that their vote doesn’t matter as much as the convenience of your summer vacation schedule.

The SAVE Act passed the House. It’s been sitting in the Senate since April. You yourself called it “commonsense” — your words, John. You said requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote and showing ID at the polls should “get an automatic ‘yes’ vote from literally every member of this body.”

So what changed? The August recess?

The reality is that every day this bill sits in limbo while you are away for six weeks leaves the integrity of the November midterms in jeopardy. You know the timeline. Even your own retiring colleague, Tillis, acknowledged that over 10,000 governmental entities need to implement these changes. The clock isn’t just ticking — it’s screaming.

You told the White House to “get on the phone” and whip votes. Fair enough. But you’re the Majority Leader. The floor schedule is your gavel. If Democrats are blocking it, make them stand there and filibuster it for real — not this theatrical phone-it-in nonsense where you file cloture, shrug at 60 votes, and move on to the next funding resolution. Let the American people watch Chuck Schumer read the phone book for 18 hours to block voter ID. Make them own it on camera.

But skipping town? That’s not leadership. That’s surrender with a tan.

You said you couldn’t guarantee an outcome, but you could guarantee putting Democrats on the record. Well, the record right now is going to show one thing: Senate Republicans left for vacation without even taking the vote.
Don’t be the guy who talked a big game about election integrity in March and then packed his beach bag in July.

Keep the Senate in session. Force the vote. Let the chips fall.

Approximately 24 hours ago, immediately after posting another criticism of traitor @LeaderJohnThune, ALL OF MY POSTS had been set to limited replies. This was hours after Thune's official X account unfollowed me.

REMOVE THUNE! - Republican John Thune was caught Friday morning receiving a special TSA escort at Reagan National Airport, allowing him to skip long lines as he headed out for a two-week Easter vacation amid the partial government shutdown and continued blocking of the SAVE Act.

Understand what Thune is doing right now. It’s not enough for him to kill the SAVE America Act. Thune has to kill it while also protecting his worst RINO colleagues from being
exposed for opposing it.

How does Thune accomplish his? By avoiding a simple majority vote at all costs. Thune knows a public vote where Republicans get less than 50 votes—with people like Tillis and Curtis and McConnell and Murkowski voting against IT—is electoral poison. He doesn’t want it to pass, but he also can’t have it die at the hands of his own puke colleagues.

So how does Thune do this? By refusing to move to the already-passed House bill (this only requires a simple majority because the House message is privileged) and instead moving to a new, standalone Senate bill. A new Senate bill is not privileged, and therefore the motion to proceed to it is debatable, meaning it requires 60 votes.

Thune needs to kill the SAVE America Act, not expose any of his GOP colleagues as being against it, and be able to pretend that he tried. This is the actual Senate GOP trifecta—doing nothing while pretending they tried everything and protecting the worst of the worst the whole time.

So when you watch the GOP Senate bring up a brand new SAVE America Act bill and hold a single vote on a motion that needs 60 to pass, know that they’re doing it because they think you’re stupid.

We have a generous farmer in San Saba, Texas who is donating 100 round bales of hay to support ranchers impacted by the recent wildfires.

Now we need help getting them there.

We are looking for volunteers with trucks and trailers willing to donate some time, fuel, and highway miles to help transport these bales to wildfire-affected ranches across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle.

Every load moved makes a difference. These ranchers are facing tremendous loss, and this hay will help keep livestock fed and operations afloat during recovery.

If you have the ability to haul—even one load—it will make an immediate impact.
