Firefighters across our state put their lives on the line every day to protect Iowans, we should be supporting them when they get sick (especially in the line of duty.)

Counterpoint: If you want to run as the de facto leader of the party, maybe you should actually be a member of that party.
He was always available to run as an independent if he wanted to do so.
I personally believe Bernie would have beaten Trump in ‘16 had the DNC not put its thumb on the scale for Hillary. The DNC did it again this cycle by not holding a real primary with debates a year ago.
In summary, of the 11 Army 4 stars:
-10 have CIBs
-All 11 are airborne
-5 spent time in SOF
-4 have Purple Hearts (and two of those have multiple awards of it)
-4 have valorous awards
-All are combat arms
fireman boyfriend says that the water shortages in california to fight the fire were not the fault of the govt and that every engine on the entire west coast could be at these fires, and it wouldn't be enough. it's the perfect fire.
JRTC, 4/2/2009. My battalion hadn’t gone into the box yet, so all of us FOs spent the day with the AF TACPs doing target talk ons with F16s. At the end of the day, the TACPs took us to a nearby steakhouse complete with all kinds of Louisiana delicacies. It was also my birthday.
What was the best meal you had while in the military?
On the 4th of July, the infantry guys that we were supporting in Afghanistan were going to have a big cook out. Steaks, burgers, hot dogs...a real American event 7,000 miles from home. While my team and I were standing in line to get chow, we got a tap on the shoulder. Another unit had found an IED and needed support.
So we dropped what were doing and got to work. by the time we got back, the sun had gone down. We stopped by the chow fall (a converted building that could hold 20 people tops) to find that all the food was gone. We went back to the house to prep for the next day.
There was a knock at the door. It was the infantry 1SG. In his hands, were three to go plates filled with American food. It was amazing. It was glorious. To this day, thats the meal I think about when people ask the best food I've had in the Army. Was it actually the best? I dont know. But in that moment it was the best thing that had ever happened.
@thesecdialogue I really can’t grow a good mustache but my chili game is on point. Key is bacon and then sautéing the veggies in the bacon grease. And corn bread. Gotta have cornbread with it.
@thesecdialogue A well involved fire contained to one structure is hard enough to knock down. Now you factor in all the energy and fuel that a wildland fire has and it’s a bomb ready to go off. Standard attack lines off an engine are like trying to use a shotgun to stop a freight train.
