This is HORRIFYING.
What’s happening in detention centers across this country is a moral stain on our nation. The abuse, medical neglect, and dehumanization at the hands of ICE and for-profit prison corporations like CoreCivic and GEO Group are shameful.
We have to end it.
ICE won’t stop killing people like until the impunity ends. ICE agents know they’ll likely face no consequences for killing people like Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastian Guerrero, in part because the Supreme Court stripped your ability to sue them for violating your constitutional rights. I have a plan to restore those rights. We need to pass the No Kings Act in California and in Congress. End the impunity. Abolish ICE.
Today, Mainers gathered outside the ICE detention facility in Scarborough to demand answers and share a message of love, support, and solidarity with Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero's family and all those affected by ICE's rogue actions.
I was incredibly moved and was proud to stand side by side with nurses, activists, families, and working people to say enough is enough. I’m grateful to the organizers for being prepared and keeping us all organized.
Johan’s wife and three-year-old daughter deserve justice. These inhumane facilities must be closed and ICE must be abolished.
POCAN: I think the problem is you're talking to rich people. Maybe this will help. Who pays tariffs?
LOEFFLER: 80% of tariffs are paid by foreign countries
POCAN: Okay. That would be like me saying I have long flowing red hair. It's complete BS. Small businesses pay tariffs.
“Arrest as many people that touch you as you want to," Gregory Bovino told Border Patrol officers in 2025. But a review of hundreds of such arrests shows that charges brought against protesters and bystanders repeatedly fell apart under scrutiny.

WATCH— @Rep_Walkinshaw: “They don’t want body cameras, they don’t want the 🇺🇸 people to see up close & personal the death & destruction. If there was body cam footage of these 2 incidents the level of outrage across 🇺🇸 would be exponentially higher.”
Two people have been killed by ICE in just the past week. Both were fathers. They’ll never see their children again.
But to Tom Homan, they’re “not even a bump in the road.”
What a disgusting thing to say.
ICE is flush with unchecked power and billions of dollars thanks to Republicans in Congress. When you pump out new agents like a factory to ramp up detention and removal, while giving them guns and quotas to fill, bad things are bound to happen.
Mr. Homan, tell Johan’s 3-year-old daughter her father’s death is a “bump in the road.” Tell his wife. His neighbors and the Biddeford community traumatized by what they witnessed yesterday morning.
Mainers demand accountability. This disgraceful statement is not it.
Sen. @DickDurbin to Acting AG Todd Blanche:
Under your leadership, more than 1,000 FBI personnel were pulled off of other priorities and directed to flag Epstein Records for any mentions of Trump. When scrutiny of the cover-up intensified, you participated in meetings in the White House Situation Room to strategize about how to protect Trump, not Epstein survivors. In clear violation of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, your explanation, "It isn't a crime to party with Mr. Epstein." These survivors deserve much better.
Susan Collins has voted to fund ICE's violent tactics in our communities, tactics that have terrorized immigrant families and eroded trust between neighbors and law enforcement across Maine and the country.
It's time we abolish ICE and elect leaders who will hold government agencies accountable.

Los Angeles took the streets to demand an end to ICE terror — and justice for Lorenzo, Joan and all victims!

Susan Collins said that she spoke to DHS, and they were to pause traffic stops. She was encouraged that this would happen.
However, Trump posted that ICE can't give up traffic stops.
So once again, Susan Collins is doing what Susan Collins does best: nothing. #DemsUnited
AOC just tore into Senator Susan Collins over the Maine shooting:
“Senator Collins wrote the blank check to allow these officers to conduct themselves in the way that they have in Maine in the first place, and she's the one who's poured resources into it.”
E. Jean Carroll on Donald Trump: "I don't understand how people can be afraid of a fat elderly man who wears apricot makeup, his hair done up like Tippi Hedren in The Birds and sits in a court room and moans and groans and complains”

In August 2025, the Justice Department office overseeing the Epstein files was editing the audio of Ghislaine Maxwell's interview.
The Acting Associate Deputy Attorney General told staff which parts of the recording to redact.
One file ran 42 minutes.
Sheldon Whitehouse's letter isn't a press release with adjectives attached. It's an eighty three page appendix of internal Kennedy Center documents, emails, and photographs, backed by firsthand accounts from multiple former project managers willing to put their names behind what they saw. That's the kind of paper trail that doesn't happen by accident.
The specifics read like a checklist of what corner cutting actually costs. Steel columns rusting through fresh paint. A reflecting pool that may need to be torn out and rebuilt entirely. An eight million dollar contract to replace the concert hall floor awarded, with no bidding process, to a firm with no prior experience working on concert halls. And the detail that captures the whole operation in miniature, a brand new bathroom floor torn out and redone because the president didn't like the tile color.
Whitehouse's letter alleges the rush wasn't about serving the institution at all. It was about having renovations finished in time for Trump to accept a FIFA Peace Prize on site in December, timeline pressure imposed for a television moment rather than sound construction practice. A national memorial to a assassinated president, run like a private vanity renovation with a hard deadline set by ceremony instead of engineering. That's not an aesthetic complaint. That's public money spent badly because the schedule answered to spectacle instead of substance.
Ukraine’s special forces (cooperating with Russian resistance group "Black Spark") just hit the Gazprom-owned Neftehim Salavat refinery—1,500 km deep inside Russia. 🎯🔥
This was the last major undamaged gasoline producer left on the Russian map in 2026.
By knocking out 11,000 tons of fuel daily (5% of Russia's total domestic demand), economists say the situation is officially shifting from "crisis" to "catastrophe."
There are literally no major oil refineries left unscathed in Russia. At this rate, the Kremlin might want to start looking into tactical horse-drawn carriages. 🐴⛽️ #Ukraine #Russia #EnergyCrisis
