I just read the probable cause for former IU basketball star Todd Leary. He once again faces charges, this time accused of stealing and defrauding a father out of almost $50,000.

The victim paid Leary to train his son in basketball. Leary is then accused of lying saying he needed money to start an AAU team, to rent a facility and to purchase equipment. None of which police say was true. They say he even lied claiming Purdue’s Matt Painter hired him.

Leary was arrested in 2012 for a theft case out of Carmel. In 2010 he was convicted of conversion and misappropriation of funds. He still has an outstanding judgment of $295k in that case.

Leary had his initial hearing in court today at 1:15.
